Longtime Clackamas Community College board member Chuck Clemans is still in intensive care at OHSU Hospital after suffering a serious injury on the Fourth of July.
Clemans, 77, had been celebrating with family on the Oregon City docks Monday night when he fell and hurt himself, according to friend Alice Norris, a former Oregon City mayor.
Clemans is a fixture in the Oregon City community, having served as the superintendent of the local school district from 1980 to 1989.
Norris said Clemans has shown signs of improvement, but that the injuries were “certainly serious.”
“There will likely be a long road to recovery,” Norris said.
